Just wondering how the transplant went. My husband found out he is pre-diabetic and needs to exercise and lose weight so he can give me a kidney…I thought he would be a shoe-in, but luckily we discovered this and can work on getting him healthy.

I’m so proud of you and your dedication and your love for DH. Your weight loss is terrific. You go, girlfriend.

Suggestions as to what to do together? What about a Wii? Indoor, a/c and exercise.

Dear Diary Gal,

I have been doing home hemo using the NxStage machine for three and a half years now and while it has its own share of problems I hope I never have to go back to in-center treatment. I don’t travel much with it because I have other disabilities that preclude it but lots of other folks do and they don’t just do road trips. I suggest you take a look at the following two websites that will give you a wealth of info on home hemo, as well as linking you to real people who are doing it so you can ask them questions.

AhA!!!!! D and I were talking about that and could not find “Lidocane Cream” anywhere for the right stuff. Thank you so much for that information. A nurse friend had told us she put lidocane on before the needle and it helps a lot. How hard was it to deal with the plane thing? We were thinking we’d have to drive everywhere. His first trip is to Atlanta in November and it’s about 14 hours or so from where we live by car.
